Zhongning lycium barbarum is the only lycium barbarum variety listed in the New Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The State Medical Administration has designated Ningxia as the country's only medicinal goji producing area and introduced it to one of the top ten medicinal production bases in the country.
The local soil is suitable for the growth of lycium barbarum and a climate with a large temperature difference between day and night; the Yellow River water is used for mixed irrigation with clear water and bitter water containing various minerals; drought and less rain, sufficient sunshine time.
The specific conditions determine the uniqueness of Zhongning lycium barbarum, which is bright in color, large grain, thin skin, thick flesh, few seeds, sweet, and superior in quality. The first crop of lycium barbarum is the finest in lycium barbarum.
